Privacy policy

This page explains what happens to your details when you use this website or call the number on it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

Who operates this site

This website, colchesterresindriveways.co.uk, is an introduction service operated by Patrick Robinson, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA ("the operator", "we"). We connect people looking for resin surfacing work in the Colchester area with one vetted independent local installer. We are the data controller for the enquiry details described below.

What we collect

  • Enquiry form. Your name, phone number, the area you select and anything you write in the message box. Nothing else is collected by the form.
  • Phone calls. Calls to the number shown on this site may be recorded for quality and dispute-resolution purposes. A notice plays at the start of each call, before you are connected, so you hear this before saying anything.
  • Nothing in the background. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tags of any kind. That is also why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The only third-party request the site makes is to load its display font from Google Fonts, which involves your browser requesting the font file from Google's servers.

What we do with enquiry details

Your enquiry details are passed to one vetted independent local installer, the firm described on the about page, so that they can contact you about your enquiry and provide a quote. That is the purpose of this website and the only routine use of your details. We do not sell enquiry details, share them with lists of contractors, or use them for marketing unrelated to your enquiry.

The installer becomes a data controller in their own right once they receive your enquiry, and their handling of your information after that point, for example in preparing a quote or contract, is governed by their own privacy arrangements, which you can ask them about directly.

Legal basis

We process enquiry details on the basis of legitimate interests: you have asked to be connected with a local specialist, and passing your details to that specialist is the service you requested. Call recordings are processed on the same basis, limited to quality and dispute-resolution purposes.

How long we keep things

  • Enquiry form details are retained for up to 12 months from the date of the enquiry, then deleted.
  • Call recordings are retained for up to 6 months, then deleted.
  • Records may be kept longer only where needed to resolve an active dispute or meet a legal obligation.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:

  • access a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have your information erased where there is no good reason to keep it;
  • object to or restrict our processing of it;
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe your information has been mishandled.

To exercise any of these rights, write to the operator at Patrick Robinson, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, or use the contact form marking your message as a privacy request. We respond within one month.
